EXTINGUISHER MAINTENANCE
 
M & G Fire Protection (Essex) Ltd can provide a maintenance plan
to suit your Company's requirements, from pay as you go too fully
comprehensive including replacement extinguishers.

Under BS 5306-3 :2003 all extinguishers require an annual basic
service to be carried out on them by a competent person. 
In addition to the basic service all extinguishers require either a periodic
extended service or in the case of Co2 extinguishers a periodic overhaul. 
The extended service includes discharge testing and a more thorough
examination, the overhauling of Co2 extinguishers involves the cylinder
being shot blasted, hydraulically pressure tested, a new valve to be fitted,
refurbishment of the cylinder and then finally recharging.

There are three types of service agreement available the first is a pay
as you go scenario which is the most commonly used (approx 95% of
customers choose this method).  However the all inclusive contracts
can prove popular with Companies who need to provide accurate
budget figures.

PAY AS YOU GO

The agreement here covers only the annual basic service, any additional
work such as recharging, extended servicing or overhauling, replacement
or additional extinguishers and spare parts are all charged for in addition
to the service fee.

ALL INCLUSIVE

TYPE 1

The agreement here covers the annual servicing, extended servicing
or overhauling and the replacement of spare parts due to fair wear
and tear. It does not included recharging of used extinguishers,
the supply of replacement or additional extinguishers and it does not
include the replacement of damaged spare parts.

TYPE 2

The agreement here covers the annual servicing, extended servicing
or overhauling, replacement of damaged or worn spare parts, replacement
of damaged or condemned extinguishers.  It does not include the
replacement of missing extinguishers or the supply of additional extinguishers.
